BCC Extruded Text Can't apply Texture from within FCPX Generators, only from a clip in the Event Library or timeline. Although workarounds are obvious this can be awkward
When applying a Front Texture it seems to fill Bevel and Sides as well visually. One might want to retain the (currently) solid colors chosen for those other components instead.
I don't see a means to scale or reposition the texture within the face.
Font Color seems to be limited to a single color. There's no control to create complex gradients.
It might also be interesting to overlay Font Colors with Texture using Blend modes.

Thanks.
I'll check to see if any instance where FCPX an wells behave differently. It may be an Apple limitation.
Mapping, I was interpreting "Use Front Only" as use on front only. Maybe needs language "Use Front for all sides" I know there's an economy of space in expressing intent but it does seem confusing when I see "Only" in this context. Toggling through does make the intended function more obvious but I suspect others will trip over this as well.
I had noted that the 1 Material did have the texture scale and position controls although didn't mention it in my post. Thanks for noting that it'll be added in the main Extruded Text template.
I have seen some basic gradient controls in some generators. Either beginning and end color or beginning, middle, end and with the ability to control the transition point. None in the context of text fill though.
I wonder if having separate generator to create gradients within BCC which one could then drop into timeline/event browser and dragging into the texture well might be an interesting way around it. It would give you more product control to provide a gradient generator. Currently another plugin developer has their own gradient generators.

Fo sure, user can do some try & tests, but it would be more user's friendly to have a more explicit wording

The text editor looks incredibly old-fashioned. It would be out of place in apps from the late 90s! In the Motion template you could set up a text box, so when you click Edit Text, the display changes to show the text box, so FCP X editors can use the text controls they know. When unchecked, the newly edited text box can then be sent to your FXPlug. Missing on-screen controls too. 3D needs draggability. Harder: It would be much more useful if the drop shadow was 3D aware: onto a plane that can be manipulated in 3D Also, this should be a Title, not effect, or a generator at least. You said you wanted feedback! alex4d
