Applied BCC Composite Transition to a PSD file in the secondary storyline. The PSD is text w/graphic to reinforce a speakers point who's video is the primary story line. Typically use apple cross dissolve for primary storyline camera 1 <> 2 dissolves and PSD dissolves but thought I would try BCC Composite to both primary and secondary storyline transitions. Noted that FCPX would stutter and then crash after the fourth application of the transition (all 4 at different point in timeline). FCPX would restart but when playing the timeline would crash -- was able to remove BCC Composite Dissolve from timeline and project was completed. Really like the look of composite dissolve --

Really like the look of composite dissolve -- I can try to recreate the scenario you describe to see if I find anything. From your description it sounds like maybe you have a composite dissolve applied between 2 video segments and then another above that transition between 2 photoshop files (so 2 composite dissolves simultaneously) ? If possible, it might be very useful if you could email the FCP project (even the project file itself without the video) file (and maybe a couple of the photoshop files) in a zip to dirkd@borisfx.com Also, if you are still able to make the crash happen in that project, when it crashes do you get the dialogue window with a button that allows you to "Create Report" ? If so, selecting all the text in that window and copying it from the report window and pasting it into an email to dirkd@borisfx.com might also help us figure out what's going on there.
